Our facility

We have 3 birth suites, each with a large tub, queen size bed, birth ball and birth stool. We also have a multi-purpose room for classes of all sorts, a family waiting room, a full kitchen, a children's play room and spacious office, exam and reception areas.

"I opened the Community Childbearing Institute Birth center in May of 1999, to serve the needs of families who desire out of the hospital birth and midwifery care, but don't desire or are unable to have home births. The Birth Center came into being to offer "home birth away from home" to all women and families, regardless of their ability to pay for care, by accepting MediCal and by having a 'sliding scale' for fees. As a native San Franciscan, having the Birth Center in San Francisco is all the more special."
