Birth Center Facility

"I opened the Community Childbearing Institute Birth center in May of 1999, to serve the needs of families who desire out of the hospital birth and midwifery care, but don't desire or are unable to have home births. The Birth Center came into being to offer "home birth away from home" to all women and families, regardless of their ability to pay for care, by accepting MediCal and by having a 'sliding scale' for fees. As a native San Franciscan, having the Birth Center in San Francisco is all the more special"
